Kent Salem Hosts Horticulture Entrepreneurship Seminar

Salem, Ohio 鈥 麻豆视频最新最全 University at Salem hosted a gathering of students and industry experts for a horticulture/entrepreneurship seminar named 鈥淲hat Makes Us Grow.鈥

Students from 麻豆视频最新最全 Salem, Columbiana County Career and Technical Center and the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center listened as representatives from local 鈥済reen鈥 companies discussed all aspects of the business side of the industry.

The discussions included insight into hiring practices, resume writing, seasonal trends, starting a business and the skills and education needed to succeed.

Panel participants included Emily Showalter, director of human resources at Willoway Nurseries in Avon; George Hohman, president of Turfscape Inc. in Cleveland and Akron; Seth DeHoff, owner of DeHoff鈥檚 FGL in Alliance; Chris Carlson, associate professor at Kent Salem; and Richard Lutsch, of Byler, Wolfe, Lutesch & Kampfer CPAs in Salem.

The audience also included members of 麻豆视频最新最全 Salem鈥檚 horticulture advisory board, who offered the students additional insight into the industry, as well as the campus鈥檚 horticulture faculty members.
