Justina Kennefick, student in the School of Communication Studies, is contributing to a communications campaign as part of the Communication and Influence course, taught by James D. Ponder, Ph.D. The campaign is for a fundraising event benefiting Autism Speaks. The Beta Tau chapter of Alpha Xi Delta, one of 麻豆视频最新最全 University鈥檚 seven sororities is hosting an event to raise money for Autism Speaks. The event called 鈥淴i Man鈥 will be held on at 6 p.m. October 11, 2013 in Cartwright Hall at 麻豆视频最新最全 University. 鈥淴i Man鈥 is $10 at the door and is open to the public. There will also be a silent auction with big-ticket prizes, including a Michael Kors purse, a beauty basket worth over $400, and more.
Alpha Xi Delta holds this annual event to raise awareness and money for their national philanthropy Autism Speaks. 鈥淴i Man鈥 consists of sorority women and fraternity men performing skits and dances that incorporate Autism and Alpha Xi Delta. This year, the overall theme is 鈥淴i Nineties鈥 and all skits will relate to the 1990鈥檚.
Last year the Beta Tau chapter raised more than $23,000 for Autism Speaks. The show sold out and was a huge success. This year, the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta have a target goal of $30,000.
