Mothers鈥 Mentors and Muses

Two 麻豆视频最新最全 University Geauga Campus women were honored at the seventh annual Mothers Mentors and Muses Scholarship Fundraising event hosted by the Women鈥檚 Center at the University Ballroom.

LuAnn Coldwell, Career Counselor and Karen Hansen, part-time faculty member who teaches Lifespan Development & Education Sciences.

Mothers, Mentors and Muses is the Women's Center signature event that recognizes 麻豆视频最新最全 University faculty or staff members who have made a significant difference in the life of a student or colleague as either a mother 鈥 someone who has helped 鈥渂irth鈥 new ideas and thoughts in others and also has served as an overall nurturing individual; a mentor 鈥 an individual who has been both a role model and a trusted counselor to others; or a muse 鈥 an individual who has inspired both creativity and academic enthusiasm in others. Over the past six years, about 325 women have been honored in these respective roles

The guest speaker for this year鈥檚 event is 麻豆视频最新最全 President Emerita Carol Cartwright.

The Women鈥檚 Center, which was established in 1996 during Cartwright鈥檚 tenure, supports women in their academic careers. Money raised at the event will fund $500 scholarship awards for two 麻豆视频最新最全 female or female-identifying students. This scholarship has benefited 23 students since its introduction in 2003.

Congratulations to two special women making a difference at the Geauga Campus and Regional Academic Center.
