Saint Luke's Health System
P1 Group has been a trusted partner of St. Luke’s Health System for many decades. Our holistic approach to achieving optimal control and peak efficiency reduced Saint Luke’s annual Energy Center utility spend by more than 29 percent.
Chilled Water Optimization Project
The Saint Luke’s Hospital Energy Center chilled water system went into operation in 2007. The Energy Center, designed for high efficiency, was not meeting performance expectations. P1 Group was tasked to review the chilled water system design, benchmark, complete an energy audit and provide an engineered solution. We were asked to provide a two-year simple payback solution that would integrate with the existing building automation system for measurement and verification. Our solution was to implement a highly sophisticated chilled water optimization platform with advanced software control algorithms to improve the Energy Center system's performance. In a holistic approach to achieve optimal control and peak efficiency, we also enhanced the operation of the building’s HVAC systems through commissioning services. Using measurement and verification software, the team continuously monitors Energy Center savings. This effort has reduced Saint Luke’s annual Energy Center utility spend by more than 29 percent, with an annual reduction of approximately 4,300,000 KWH. We are proud of the relationship and partnership built with Saint Luke’s Health System and continue to provide energy services to maintain the facility’s performance.
Mid America Heart Institute
In 2011, P1 Group completed one of the largest projects in the company’s history. We began work on the multi-phase project for Saint Luke’s Wornall in 2007. The project covered 387,594 square feet and was headlined by the seven-story Mid America Heart Institute. The building consists of a new kitchen, cafeteria, lobby, shops, administrative offices, IT data center, future radiology, emergency expansion, patient rooms and a mechanical penthouse. P1 also completed the single story Women’s Cardiac building and a two-story Women’s Center on the north end. Along with this project, P1 Group installed a new storm sewer which consisted of several new manholes and concrete piping. P1 Group was responsible for all of the HVAC and plumbing on this project.
