Peggy Nzomo, University Libraries, is the 2016 recipient of the American Library Association (ALA) International Relations Committee’s “Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund.” She received this award at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) World Library and Information Congress held Aug. 13-19 in Columbus, Ohio. She also was one of 50 librarians who received the 2016 IFLA Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Fellows scholarship.

Online final grading for Summer 2017 Intersession began Thursday, June 8, via FlashFAST. Grading also is now available for any summer 2017 course section that was flexibly scheduled. The deadline for grading submission is midnight on Tuesday, June 13. Any final grades for summer 2017 courses not reported in FlashFAST by the grades processing deadline will have to be submitted using the Grade Change Workflow. These summer 2017 courses will be available in the Workflow on Thursday, June 15.

鶹Ƶȫ University celebrated its newest graduates at its Spring 2017 Commencement ceremonies. In total, 鶹Ƶȫ conferred 5,636 degrees, including 992 associate degrees, 3,319 bachelor’s degrees, 1,139 master’s degrees, 181 doctoral degrees and five educational specialist degrees.

A 鶹Ƶȫ professor has found that a person’s genetic makeup influences how frequently he or she uses social media.
The Office of Sexual and Relationship Violence and Support Services is the recipient of three grants to launch campuswide awareness and prevention initiatives surrounding sexual harassment and assault, relationship violence and stalking.
Beginning July 1, 鶹Ƶȫ University will become smoke-free and tobacco-free, in accordance with university policy 5-21. The new policy aligns with the university’s healthy campus initiative, 鶹Ƶȫ of Wellness.
While most people know the health benefits gained from quitting smoking, they may be unaware of the significant financial benefits.

The 鶹Ƶȫ University Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 鶹Ƶȫ University in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, 鶹Ƶȫ remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
