Alumnus Andrew Konya, '10, graduated from �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University with a degree in physics and started chiseling away at what is now his company, Remesh, in 2013. Remesh, has gone on to receive  to continue expanding and creating solutions.

Forbes and market research company Statista have named �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University No. 1 among employers in Northern Ohio and No. 4 in the entire state of Ohio on the 2020 America’s Best-in-State Employers list that highlights America’s best employers. �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ is also the top educational institution on the Ohio list. �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University is being recognized for the ninth time as a “Great College to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education, a top trade publication for colleges and universities, and ModernThink LLC, a consulting firm. Now in its 13th year, the “Great Colleges to Work For” annual report recognizes the colleges that get top ratings from their employees on workforce practices and policies.

Throughout the summer, the College of Podiatric Medicine (CPM) raised scholarship dollars in the spirit of Alumni Reunion Weekend that culminated in the announcement of this year’s four scholarship award winners.

In 2019, a team of researchers in �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ’s Department of Anthropology published its “prize-winning” research article titled in the Journal of Archaeological Science. (Yes, the jokes are seemingly endless, but seriously folks, there is an important underlying message here about evidence-based research and fact-checking!)

�鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University psychology major Tanner Noble has been struggling with cancer for five of his last six years, but things changed dramatically for him with the approved use of a new treatment for teenagers and adults.

The �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ Museum’s newest exhibition, “Fortuna: Designs by Vincent Quevedo,” marks the first new exhibition for the museum since its reopening in August and is on display now. It features works by award-winning designer and School of Fashion Associate Professor Vincent Quevedo.

The �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University Board of Trustees congratulated �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ President Todd Diacon and university leaders on increased retention and graduation rates, as well as a strong Class of 2024, as official fall 2020 enrollment figures were shared at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Wednesday, Sept. 16.

In partnership with �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University, Main Street Kent invites mask-wearing �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ students to visit downtown Kent businesses for a chance to win great prizes.

Five students from �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University at Geauga distinguished themselves as writing award winners during Spring Semester 2020. Each was a student of Bonnie Shaker, Ph.D., assistant professor of English. While �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ Geauga students have won a total of 16 awards from 2014 through 2020 in different categories, five winners in one year is a notable achievement.

Lauren Kinsman-Costello, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences, will serve as the H2Ohio Wetland Monitoring Program Lead for Lake Erie and Aquatic Research Network (LEARN). The group will assess the effectiveness and future role of implemented and planned wetland restoration projects in partnership with the Ohio Division of Natural Resources (ODNR). This project is part of Governor Mike DeWine’s , a comprehensive, data-driven approach to improving Ohio’s water quality.

To celebrate Constitution Day, �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University Libraries is offering a virtual screening of the documentary "And She Could Be Next" on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion that will include the filmmakers and �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ faculty members.

�鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University’s Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute soon will be home to a new X-ray scattering instrument capable of examining materials in scales from as small as a fraction of a nanometer to as large as several micrometers.

When searching for a job in her final semester as a fashion merchandising major this past spring, Jenna Palek realized that during a global pandemic, very few companies would be hiring. Undaunted, she told herself “I simply will not take ‘no’ as an answer,” knowing “I was capable of finding not only a job but a great one.”

Two recent incidents involving the painting of racist messages on the Rock located on Front Campus, coupled with the series of tragic national events this year involving the shootings of Black Americans, serve as glaring evidence that this university and our country need to do better when addressing racism and violence against Black Americans.

At �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ, our core values of respect and kindness for all demand that we step up to become part of the conversation that leads to a solution that will dismantle the systemic racism that has plagued our communities throughout history, and our university all too recently.

�鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University’s commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive campus has received acknowledgement from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education, for an eighth consecutive year. INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine has selected �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ as a recipient of the 2020 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award.

Two archrival men's basketball teams worked together to produce a powerful video supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and encouraging everyone to register to vote in the 2020 election.
